Optimize Weight-Loss! Lose Weight Quicky, Weight-Loss N.Y., Eating Breakfast

Eat Breakfast NOW, Eat Less LATER

Studies have shown that people who skip breakfast are on a fast track to heart disease and weight gain. The study that was performed found that healthy women that skipped breakfast for 2 weeks ate more throughout the day, had increased insulin resistance, and developed higher “bad cholesterol, LDL” levels than women that ate breakfast everyday. High LDL cholesterol levels and increased insulin resistance are both major risk factors for heart disease

It is common in a place like New York City that the population finds itself in a morning rush that breakfast is a meal that is often ignored. As time has passed the prevalence of obesity has increased dramatically in both urban and suburban environments. One of the common complaints a new patient will tell is that they lack energy and are tired throughout the whole day, especially from 1pm – 4pm. When I analyze the food diary presented to me 99% of these patients have either eaten an inadequate breakfast or skipped it entirely. The body will feel run down and tired from the afternoon to early evening if it does not receive adequate calories to burn as energy early in the day. As soon as I correct this mistake most patients see an immediate change in energy levels. I help these patients not only meal plan correctly but also provide idea’s and recipes to use that will fit into a hectic lifestyle and minimal time in the morning to devote to having a traditionally “sit down” morning meal. I am realistic and won’t expect that a person will have the time to make breakfast every morning due to time constraints, but I have ways to ensure you get all the necessary nutrients without spending all the time it might normally take to prepare a complete meal.

The most important results from the study showed that when the women ate breakfast, ate about 100 fewer calories per day (an average of 1,665 calories per day vs. 1,756 calories per day over a three-day measurement period). 100 calories less per day equals 700 calories per week and 2,800 calories per month! That’s a great start to losing weight, avoiding diabetes, and decreasing your chances of heart disease. Add to this even better eating habit throughout the day and resistance exercise 4 times a week and you will see monumental changes in your body within a month.
